COVID-19

We have resumed in-person worship services. We are practicing social distancing and hand sanitizer is available. Our worship services have been arranged to reduce touching. Face masks are encouraged but not required. If you have a compromised immune system, or are part of a high risk group, please fill free to join us via Facebook and watch a live streamed Worship service on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. When you do, be sure and say hi via Facebook Chat.

We want to make it as comfortable as possible for you to connect with Ingleside Methodist Church (IMC).

Welcome:  You are welcome to worship with us, participate in any of our activities, and attend any of our classes.

Parking:  IMC has parking on both sides of Church Street which runs in front of the sanctuary.  In addition, we also have permission to park in the bank parking lot across the street from the Church.  There is parking for handicapped directly in front of the Church Sanctuary with a wheel-chair ramp at the entrance to the front doors of the Church.

As a Visitor:  You will be greeted and welcomed by many of our church members as you enter, and be welcomed at the beginning of the service, but you will never be made to stand and be recognized. You are asked to sign our Friendship Pad that will either be on the pew or will be passed to you during the service.  If you will please provide your address and phone number, the pastor and someone from our Evangelism committee will contact you during the week with additional information from our church.

Diversity:  People come to our church from the far corners of San Patricio and Aransas Counties.  Some people walk to church and others drive past many other churches to come here because they want to be a part of a unique experience.  We believe and work hard at "Open hearts, open minds, open doors."  Every person is a child of God and we accept them as they are.  John Wesley believed that "In essentials unity, in non-essentials freedom, in all things charity." That is what we strive for at Ingleside Methodist Church.

Sunday Worship:  Upon entering the sanctuary you will be greeted and handed a bulletin that will give you all the information you will need to participate in the worship service.  It will also include our weekly announcements and a sign-up sheet for events being held.  You may also request the following from a greeter: large print hymnal, a hearing assisted device, and/or a pew blanket or cushion.

Dress:  We have no dress code!  Suits, jeans, or shorts & flip flops or shoes!  Wear whatever you feel comfortable in as you worship God.

Children:  We love children and consider them a vital part of our church family. There are children's worship bags next to the media booth that will help your child connect with the service. We also have a nursery in Room 3 if needed.

Opportunities to Serve:  We are always looking for people to attend Bible studies, Sunday School classes, or help out in one or more of our ministry opportunities.  You may sign up by calling the church office at: 361-776-2820 or check out our online list.

Holy Communion:  We practice open communion. You do not need to be a member of Ingleside Methodist Church to participate.  Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month.

Do I have to join your church?  No, you do not have to join; you are always welcome to worship with us, participate in any of our activities, and attend any of our study groups.  We provide regular "Membership Exploration" classes by which you may learn more about Ingleside Methodist Church, and we encourage you to come and learn even if you have no intention of joining.  Topics that are covered are faith, Methodist theology, our organizational structure, and a tour of our facility.  Membership is a choice and commitment which we want you to make only when the time is right for you.  You can become a member by Baptism and Profession of Faith, or by Transfer from another United Methodist Church or another denomination.  We believe that the Holy Spirit works within other churches and if you have previously been baptized we do not "re-baptize" you.
